I see in this hack you can get most of the power ups right away. the springball is in the maze, and Kraid is in the flooded room to the right. My question is how do you defeat him. I can't reach the platforms above. Is gravity suit somewhere in this hack??

Yup ;D. You have to get through the minor maze, which you can do without the springball, but is seriously faster and easier with. I tried to make a video, except that my recording system wasn't working. By the way, there are a couple hidden passages in the minimaze, but only one correct solution. For example, I put a fake wall in, and a treadmill pushing you back into the path. At a quick inspection, it's solid, and you skip it. When you actually go through it, though... The gravity suit is the reward of the smaller maze. The springball, energy tanks and reserve tanks are the reward of the larger maze. Also, for some reason, I couldn't get Kraid or Ridley to fight you again, so you just have to skip them after you beat them once.

Ah, okay. I'll have to play it more throughly lest Kraid killeth me.... Thanx!! ;D Hmm, I've never pulled it off but in Super Metroid and some hacks it's possible to shoot 4 or 5 super missiles before the battle that the platforms are necessary making it a real fast boss battle if you're good enough. Is this possible in this hack?? Not that I would necessarly....

Well, I left Kraid's room alone except for adding water. It'll be pretty much the same as the other. I've never managed to do that, though.

Semi-Noob. Then, tell me how many times you make it through the bosses. That might get you an upgrade, if you do a sufficient job. ;D

Hmm, would ultra-noob be a higher rank than semi-noob?? I currently have no idea how many times I could make it through the bosses, but which would you prefer:
I make a video of it
or
I give you a savestate saying how many times I've made it through the bosses
??

hm... just your word, I guess. The video would take too long, and the save state wouldn't really be able to say it or anything. Oh well. I guess I have to trust you... by the way, Ultra-noob is lower than noob. Actually, I'd call you an ultra noob if you couldn't find the first items lol ;D.

Ah, good!! So I was an ultra-noob until I opened the training patch with ZSNES.... That means I moved up already also. ;D
Now, all I need to do now is defeat the first boss for starters....

Yeah, it just might be helpful if you beat the first boss...

Actually, I think I thought of a way or two to get demoted from noob to ultra-noob: Open the Training ROM up in SMILE, find out where everything is in the mazes and memorize the correct routes to the items. After that, go to the bosses and give them considerably less hp and make sure they're all vulnerable to every attack possible. And then play the hack with pro action replay codes. This method, I believe, would be cheating and would go against the original intentions of the hacker. Also, It wouldn't make one a better player, which actually is what the hacker intends here: To make the player a better player. And getting the status of ultra-noob in this fashion would make getting a promotion to noob really really hard, if not impossible. Don't worry, I'll do it legally. Also, I decided to attach a favorite screenshot of the hack. We can share image files and zip & rar files this way directly from the home computer to here basicly the same way as metroid2002. ;D (Edit) Yay, I finally got the gravity suit!! And I did it legally, too. But I'm not out of the woods yet though, I still got to complete the maze in the other room and then defeat the bosses starting with Kraid. Is it possible to go back to the ship after starting to defeat the bosses?? I suspect not but could be wrong.... I must comment: That's a cool color for the gravity suit. I really like it ;D. There's something I'm curious about.... We obviously know it's possible to have suitless Samus one color, varia Samus a second color, and varia with gravity or just gravity Samus a third color, but is it possible to have gravity suit Samus a different color than gravity with varia Samus hence making a fourth color?? Curious if it's possible.... (Edit2) Aarrgghh, we can't further attach any files in posts that we edit.... Maybe I'll use this as my avatar in metroid2002 for a while instead of the one you said I could for a while....[uploadedFiles=1228285565;1]

Well, that file didn't work. It says it's an invalid reference. Could you set it up so we can view it straight on here? I like that way best. Thanks anyways! And no, you can't go back once you start.

I went through that maze to get the energy tank and reserve using every route seemingly possible but came up with dead ends. I'm thinking there's a bombable block, a false block, a grapplable disappearing block, or a block that a super missile can handle somewhere. Hmm, perhaps I could try the earlier versions of the patch so I could figure out what I'm missing easier?? Aarrgghh, the video only plays up to collecting the super missiles. Oh well, I won't give up.

Good luck. The earlier versions don't have the full route in them lol ;D.

I'm thinking there's a bombable block, a false block, a grapplable disappearing block, or a block that a super missile can handle somewhere. Is this correct?? Also, I have a present for you in the SMILE help thread.... ;D

Thanks - but alas, the other download worked first. For some reason, it was giving me an error message even then, but that was just because the backups folder didn't unzip. I had to create those folders individually, but now it works! Mainly, I'm wanting to use words as my credits, to give credit to all who helped. Thanks anyways!

Yay, I finally have what I need now to put SNES games on my PSP!! Training will be one of the hacks to go on it for sure. I won't be able to use savestates that I know of so that limits which to put on it though. Games that require savestates will remain on the computer. ;D

With Training, you need no savestates, because it's just that - training. You can't win, so there's no timer, there's really no danger that can kill you that you need a savestate for (other than the bosses [duh]), so it's just about perfect. You get to train anything you want. Btw, have you noticed any errors with it?

Not needing savestates makes it ideal for having it on the PSP ;D. Other hacks also have that feature as well. ;D
And yes, I actually did find errors in it. The ZSNES video I'll eventually e-mail you will show what these errors are. When that time comes, I might also have suggestions so the error fixes hopefully wouldn't be the only changes made in the next version.

Well, since I can't do it, this issue never came up, but I'm guessing the Kraid quick-kill would be something that would mess up, as well as whatever you found. You are the most thorough bug-tester I've ever seen. Chuck Norris can believe it's not butter!
